Mahalo Hawaiʻi, Sail – Hāna, Maui Recap Video

  • Posted on 26 Nov 2017
  • In Malama Honua Selects, Newsletter, Photo Galleries, Teachers

What do you get when you take a bunch of talented fun loving crewmembers from Maui Nui, add Hōkūle‘a and combine with the unique Hawaiian community of Hāna? You get a recipe for mālama honua in one of Hawaiʻi’s most cherished communities!

Join us for the recap of our visit to Hāna: it was an exciting sail, followed up by a local greeting where students and keiki welcomed Hōkūle‘a as she entered Hāna Bay Harbor. There, crewmembers joined with Nā Mamo O Mū‘olea and East Maui communities in celebrating the 9th Annual Limu Festival, a community event organized by Hāna residents to celebrate the many aspects of healthy shoreline ecosystem.

A special mahalo to crewmember Kaipo Kiaha for the great recap video and for volunteering to shoot photos and videos for the Hāna portion of the Mahalo Hawaiʻi, Sail.
