Wayfinders Weekend at the Bishop Museum – Oʻahu
February 3, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 9:00am, repeating until February 4, 2018
Join Bishop Museum on February 3 and 4 to discover and celebrate the art and science of wayfinding across our planet. Using Bishop Museum collections, interactive stations, the new Holo Moana: Generations of Voyaging exhibit, and a virtual reality (VR) experience aboard the Hōkūleʻa, Museum visitors will share in the wonder of navigating the waters of Oceania.
Enjoy the popular Wayfinders planetarium show, hear from voyagers from the Polynesian Voyaging Society via a special talk story format in the Hawaiian Hall Atrium, try your hand at building a model canoe with Bishop Museum Culture Educators, test out model canoe sailing designs with Bishop Museum Science Educators in the Science Adventure Center, and step aboard a virtual Hōkūleʻa deck in the Hall of Discovery.

Bishop Museum is delighted to showcase this technology thanks to partners at Booz Allen Hamilton, Pacific Center for Advanced Technology Training (PCATT), Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS), SMALLIFY, Hawai‘i Leadership Forum and University of Hawai‘i Mānoa’s LAVA Lab
