As part of this year’s event, we will also be honoring the memory of Mel Paoa, a beloved Hōkūleʻa captain. Mel dedicated almost 40 years of service to Hōkūleʻa and our voyaging community. He provided humble leadership from Molokaʻi, allowing for many of the island’s youth and young adults to participate in sailing and voyaging.
“Sharing the best of Molokaʻi with the world…a taste of Molokaʻi’s ALOHA spirit.” Passing on the traditions from one generation to the next.
