Event Navigation

Fundraiser Cocktail Reception with Nainoa Thompson, President, Polynesian Voyaging Society, and Lead Navigator of Hōkūle‘a voyaging canoe. Join us in supporting the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage as it makes its way to New York City in July of 2016.
Your support will enable Hōkūleʻa to continue her historic voyage around the world. Joining us for this event is Nainoa Thompson, President of the Polynesian Voyaging Society, winner of the 2015 Peter Benchley Ocean Award for Excellence in Exploration, and the first Hawaiian to practice the art of wayfinding on long distance ocean voyages since the 14th century.
Crewmembers are inspiring innovative educational practices in Hawaiʻi and the world using the values of Mālama Honua. Mālama Honua, to care for our Island Earth, is the universal value that is allowing voyagers to connect and learn from communities and cultures across the globe. The goals of the voyage are educational: to connect people who are inspired by the shared values of Mālama Honua and to bridge tradition and technology to solve problems in innovative ways.
- Suggested minimum donation: $150 (or for private VIP pre-reception with Nainoa Thompson, $250); live entertainment.
