Event Navigation

Did you know that MLK Day is a day on, and not a day off? This holiday is a chance to be of service to your community. For this day, Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation is hosting a beach cleanup at James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge in Kahuku on Monday, January 18.
Check-in is at 8:30am at mile marker 15; cleanup is from 9am-11am. Mark your calendars! Please arrive before 9am as everyone will be heading to the beach from mile marker 15 at 9am.
At this cleanup, Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation will recycle all opaque plastics (Plastics 2, 4 & 5) to the method home Ocean Plastic Project, which turns marine debris into bottles for home cleaning products! Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation does their best to divert as much as they can after beach cleanups! Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii will be on site to help with this.
Remember to bring a reusable water bottle, a hat and some sunscreen. Healthy snacks will be provided for volunteers!
