OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Uncle Snake Ah Hee was born and raised in Lāhainā, Maui. His family spent a lot of time on the water fishing, paddling and surfing from which he developed water skills and a familiarity with the ocean. Snake was first introduced to Hōkūleʻa in 1975 and was asked to sail on the return leg of her inaugural voyage to Tahiti in 1976. He is honored to sail on Hōkūleʻa and looks forward to long periods of time at sea. While at sea, he misses cold drinks, ice cream and taking his grandkids to the beach. When not sailing, Snake still spends much of his time on and in the water surfing, paddling, fishing and diving for shells.
