OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lohiao has been involved in PVS through family and community from a young age and he first sailed on Hōkūleʻa at the age of 15. For him, Hōkūleʻa is a connection of past and future. Lohiao hopes that through the Worldwide Voyage Hōkūleʻa forges friendship bonds between other cultures around the world. When sailing on Hōkūleʻa, Lohiao has the Molokai community with him and he is constantly thinking of home. When back on land, Lohiao misses the sound of the wind and the waves that carry Hōkūleʻa.
