World Oceans Day Celebration at KoʻOlina
Free public event – reserve tickets recommended for entrance
Location: Ko Olina Resort, Grand Lawn, Ulua Lagoon 4
Saturday, June 10, Starting at 4:00 p.m.
NOAA, Ko Olina Resort Association, The Marine Mammal Center, Hawai’i Tourism Authority, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and other community partners are hosting this FREE public event to celebrate World Oceans Day. The event coincides with World Oceans Day celebrated globally on June 8, NOAA’s 2017 “Year of the Monk Seal” recognition and the return of Hōkūle‘a and Hikianalia to Hawai‘i on June 17th.
The theme for World Oceans Day 2017 is “OUR OCEANS, OUR FUTURE”. Despite the huge challenges facing the future of our world oceans, we in Hawai’i believe by working together, we can support a healthy ocean that is able to sustain humans, plants, and animals. This event will provide an opportunity to learn about endangered monk seals and other marine protected resources.
Join us for a night of family fun. The celebration at Ko Olina will include ocean education and sustainability activities, live entertainment, food booths, raffle drawings and a special sunset showing on the lawn of Disney’s Moana film.
