In celebration of World Oceans Month, Outrigger will team up with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) and the community to help save and protect coral reef systems in Hawaii and beyond. To help turn the tides, the brand new OZONE (Outrigger’s Zone) initiative will provide education and outreach through key conservation partners in the iconic beach destinations of Outrigger Resorts.
Outrigger will kick-off its commitment to ocean health with a family-friendly event at the Waikiki Aquarium. The day will mark the signing of the memorandum of agreement between Outrigger and NOAA, stating both parties’ commitment to work together to support the conservation and education needs of the public. There will be educational activities, live Hawaiian music, giveaways for the first 500 guests, and an algae clean up and weighing. Activities for keiki will include a decorate your own sea-life door knob hanger with stamps and stickers, temporary sea-life kids tattoos, an under the sea canopy for photo opportunities, games and more.
