Event Navigation

Join the Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) team to learn about Hōkūleʻa, Polynesian wayfinding, and the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage; dive into specifics about how we will be connecting Hōkūleʻa, the Worldwide Voyage, the East Coast sail plan, and the local community.  PVS and the local Planning Committee will be providing a briefing of activities, engagements, and considerations for the proposed port stay and beyond.  Breakout sessions will include a focus on education and outreach, itinerary for crew and canoe, and policy and leadership planning time.

Breakout for Educators will focus on:

Join the effort to connect classrooms at home and around the globe with the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage. Hear from crew members and educators about how lessons learned from voyaging and the Worldwide Voyage can enhance teaching and learning in our communities.  Share how you and your students are working to mālama honua, and brainstorm ideas of how to infuse mālama honua lessons into your existing or future lessons.

Please contact Darlene Kehaulani Butts; dbutts(at)makakoaenterprises; with questions and/or to REGISTER for this FREE information session with the Polynesian Voyaging Society and the Hōkūleʻa DC Landing Coordinating Committee.
