Hikianalia Leg 11: Tahiti to Hawaiʻi
Maggie is from Island Earth, having lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, New Milford, New Jersey, Burlington, Vermont before settling in Palolo, O'ahu. In 2009, she first sailed on Hōkūleʻa, which to her represents a rebirth and revitalization of culture and possibility. She believes the canoe has an ability to bring people together for a common purpose through challenges and adversity. Maggie hopes that the Worldwide Voyage can forge deep and real connections across the world through stories of hope that will inspire lasting change to create a better world for the next 7 generations.
While sailing, Maggie misses ice the most and back on land, she misses the beauty and simplicity of life on the canoe.
