A crewmember since 2009, Kula remembers hearing stories of Hōkūleʻa since she was younger. To her, Hōkūleʻa is a symbol of hope and an ever growing lei of stories bringing cultures together. She hopes that through the Worldwide voyage, we continue learning from and sharing with each other.
When sailing, she misses cold drinks and her 'ohana. Back on land, Kula misses being with her crew and the canoe in the absence of distractions like cell phones and social media.
